About Benjamin Ball Associates

We are a small team dedicated to helping companies polish their pitches, talks and presentations.  Firms have been calling on our services for over 10 years.  Our clients are some of the biggest – and many smaller businesses – many of whom are either in financial services or need help with investor communications.  80% of our new business comes from referrals and most of our larger clients have been with us for many years.

We run both large scale training programmes and individual coaching / advice for specific events.

What sets us apart is our pragmatic approach.  We have a proprietary approach to communications that we call the BBA PitchPresent Process. This means we rapidly get to the heart of any issue and you see quick results.

Our team also has an unusual background having worked in corporate finance, stockbroking, journalism and PR.  And our training is more than training in that we offer a mixture of advice and coaching to help people get themselves across clearly and persuasively.

Benjamin Ball

With a focus on improving financial presentations and increasing pitch win rates, Ben advises business leaders how to present themselves in front of investors, clients and the media.

 

Over the last 10 years Ben has built this company’s systematic approach to pitch coaching and presentation training. He works with entrepreneurs, senior managers and leaders of major corporations. Clients he has advised include Permira, Statoil, Microsoft, Worldpay and United Utilities as well as many private equity firms. Previously Ben was a corporate financier at dot com specialist Durlacher following senior roles at Pearson, Cable and Wireless and the BBC. He is a regular speaker at financial conferences including Super Return and GAIM.

Juliet Mann

Juliet Mann is an experienced broadcast media trainer. She is a journalist and anchor who has worked for CNN, Sky News, Reuters, CNBC, BBC and on radio. Juliet co-hosted CNN’s weekly business show Marketplace Europe and was a roving reporter for Sky News for many years. Previously Juliet worked for Reuters TV as their Paris Correspondent. She speaks fluent French.

Paul Farrow

Paul Farrow is an expert trainer and PR advisor with over 30 years experience. He has advised a wide range of companies, focusing on financial services. These include challenger banks Tesco Bank and Paragon Group, private equity firms Actis and HarbourVest, hedge fund Man Group, and banks RBS, HSBC and Mitsubishi UFJ Securities. His work spans companies as different as L’Oreal, Singapore Airlines, Cambridge Nanosystems and Tetrapak.

Paul’s background combines PR (Paul Farrow was MD, Financial Services at Fishburn), financial journalism (Deputy Editor at IFR magazine) and investment banking (Swiss Bank Corp, FG Inversiones Bursatiles and Ahorro Corporacion). He speaks fluent Spanish.

Jane Renton

Jane Renton is an experienced media and presentation trainer. She has worked with many international bluechip companies, to train those in the public eye, including senior executives at Swiss Re, BNP Paribas, PwC, Absolut Vodka and CSC. She was a presenter of The Money Programme, BBC2’s economic and business current affairs flagship.

 

She has also written extensively for a number of national newspapers, including The Sunday Times and Observer, where she was a senior staff writer for seven years. Jane is also the author of the best-selling Economist book, Coaching and Mentoring.


david bond

David Bond

David Bond is a presentation expert specialising in finance. Recent clients he has helped include Unilever, Sainsbury’s, Bupa, Slaughter and May, Cancer Research UK, Penguin Random House, The Green Party and Ernst and Young.

 

He began his career as a fund manager at Merrill Lynch Asset Management where he worked as an investment analyst and was heavily involved with running pension funds, analysing their investments and meeting senior management. Since then he has developed successful parallel careers in strategic communication training and documentary filmmaking.

Louise Angus

As our Customer Services Director, Louise Angus makes sure our clients get the best from their training programmes.

 

Formerly Director of Sales for MTV Europe, she has many years experience of working with international brands, helping them achieve their marketing ambitions. Now she helps international companies achieve their communications skills ambitions. Louise can be reached on 07768 882 984

 

 


Louise Jackson

As our Operations Manager, Louise ensures the smooth co-ordination of all our courses from the initial booking stage to post-session follow up, working closely with our trainers, camera people and client contacts. She also manages our accounting and invoicing processes.

She has a background in departmental administration at the University of Oxford
